Founded in 2002 in Castelvetro (MO), Italy, C.T.LAY began its operations with a focus on the application of magnetic stripes on plastic cards.

Over the years, the company evolved into a global leader in security lamination technologies, particularly for governmental and financial applications.

In 2003, the company expanded its capabilities, and by 2005, it had earned accreditations from Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, marking a significant shift toward high-security applications. 

By 2007, C.T.LAY had entered the governmental market, specializing in hologram applications on polycarbonate overlays for ID documents such as passports, ID cards, and driving licenses 

To strengthen its presence in this sector, C.T.LAY launched 4PLATE, a joint venture in Germany focused on producing advanced security lamination plates.

In 2018, C.T.LAY was acquired by Sun Chemical, part of the DIC Corporation, further enhancing its global reach and technological capabilities

In order to grant the confidentiality and reliability requested for governmental applications, our company got in 2015 the Intergraf CWA 15374:2008 and Intergraf 14298:2013 and in 2016 the ISO 9001:2015 certifications.
